Cooperation of Turkic states led to occurrence of a unified Turkic world – Kazakh FM

At the invitation of the Government of Türkiye, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu took part in the work of the III Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The Forum was attended by more than 100 heads of states and governments, foreign ministers, as well as heads of international organizations, non-governmental organizations and expert circles. “Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil” is the main theme of the current forum, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the opening ceremony. In his speech, President Erdoğan noted that the Antalya Forum has become an important platform for discussing topical issues on the global and regional agenda. The Turkish leader stressed the necessity of improving diplomacy in the current complex geopolitical situation in the world.

Within the framework of the forum, Minister Nurtleu took part in the panel session “Institutionalization in the Turkic World: The Organization of Turkic States in the XXI Century”. The session has been moderated by the Secretary General of the TNA Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and the speakers were the heads of foreign ministries of Azerbaijan, Ceyhun Bayramov; Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubayev; Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov and former Foreign Minister, member of Parliament of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

In his speech, Minister noted the special role of Kazakhstan in the Turkic world, which is the initiator and one of the founding states of the OTS, positively developing integration within its activities. He also informed the audience about the priorities of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the OTS, which is held under the motto TURKTIME.

“"Our organization unites all Turkic countries and we jointly strengthen our integration. The main goal is to enhance economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, we help each other to unlock potential in various areas, including transport and logistics, digitalization and trade,” said Minister Nurtleu. The OTS is not a block structure and does not have a hidden agenda mentioned the head of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister stressed that the cooperation of the Turkic states has demonstrated its viability and led to the occurrence of a unified Turkic world as a new geopolitical reality.

Participants of the panel session shared their views on the current development of the OTS, which is undergoing the process of institutionalization, and also expressed solidarity in assessing the development strategy of Turkic integration. In 2022, during the Summit of the Heads of the OTS Member States in Istanbul, it was decided to transform from a dialogue platform into a full-fledged international organization.
