Country sums up interim results of Industrialization Programme

And the industrial development of the country is no exception. A big number of projects have been implemented under the State Programme of Accelerated Industrial-Innovative Development (PAIID) in 2011.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in a national teleconference with the presentation of the Industrialization Map projects launched during the second half of 2011 in Astana on December 9 at the Saryarka Republican Track Cycling Centre, the Kazakh MFA's press service informs.

Nursultan Nazarbayev launched industrial facilities in the regions via video-conference, including the processing section of the Sokolov-Sarbaiskoye ore-dressing production association in the Kostanay region, the production of the Akku tablet computers, TVs and monitors production plant in the Mangistau region, "Alibekmola" and "Kozhasai" gas utilization complex in the Aktobe region. Other projects included a medical equipment plant in the Zhambyl region, a cathode copper plant in the Karaganda region, a vitriol plant in the Kyzylorda region, the Semipalatinsk leather and fur industrial plant in the East Kazakhstan region, a meat processing complex in the Almaty region, and a chemical plant in the Atyrau region. In the Pavlodar region, the President reviewed the completion of a turbine assembly line and of a boiler unit at the Pavlodarenergo enterprise which had undergone restoration.

A macaroni mill complex has been presented in the North Kazakhstan region. In the South Kazakhstan region, Nazarbayev launched the production of readymade textile produce. Among large-scale enterprises the President launched were the Moinak hydroelectric station on the Charyn River in the Almaty region, railway line Uzen - the state border with Turkmenistan and the completion of the Western Europe - Western China transit corridor construction in the Zhambyl region.

It is expected that the launch of all the projects at full capacity will have a huge impact on the economy and the social well-being of the people.

телемост As part of the Programme, a total of 389 industrial projects have been implemented, which created 90,000 jobs, and investments into the country reached 1.8 trillion tenge, contributing two percent to GDP growth.

As part of the Industrialization Map, 179,000 permanent jobs will be created. The map consists of 609 projects totaling 9.6 trillion tenge. In 2010, 152 projects worth over 800 billion tenge were commissioned, adding 23,000 jobs. The implementation of the Industrialization Map is directly regulated by the Government.

According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, 75 investment projects worth 114 billion tenge were launched during the first half year of 2011. In the second half year 162 projects totaling 902 billion tenge are in the process of implementation.

Speaking earlier at the Industrial Innovation Forum entitled "We will build strong Kazakhstan together!", President Nazarbayev emphasized that the Programme of Industrialization is the most important task of the state, equivalent to building an independent nation. "We can not sit and pin hopes on the mineral resources of our country and do nothing. We have seen what happens when prices for oil, gas, metals and other commodities change on world markets. We can not always depend on this. The world is looking for new types of energy and will eventually find it. And we need to be prepared for it," the President stressed.

President Nazarbayev also took part in the award ceremony of the winners of "Altyn Sapa", a presidential award for best quality, and the "Paryz" competition for corporate social responsibility.

The Presidential prize is awarded annually in three categories: "Best Production Company", "Best Consumer Goods Company", "Best Services Company". A total of 610 companies took part in this year's competition for the "Altyn sapa" Presidential Award for Quality. All in all 32 prizes were awarded at the ceremony. Among the winners were "KazMunaiGas", "Zhezkazgan Electricity Distribution Company", "Eurasia" medical centre, "Maslo-del" and others.

The President also unveiled the "Tulpar-Talgo" factory in Astana that will produce passenger cars. The factory was built by a joint venture of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" national railway company and the Spanish "Patentes Talgo, S.L." company. The President personally inspected the first nine cars of different modifications collected at the factory.

It is planned that by 2015 passenger cars of local production will be used throughout Kazakhstan. "The efficiency of our transportation system will increase significantly," the President said. The annual capacity of the plant is 150 cars with a speed limit of 200 km per hour.

алтын сапа President Nazarbayev who is also the Chief of the Armed Forces took part in the opening of a new building of the Zhas Ulan Republican school, is a secondary education institution with intensive study of languages, military and physical training.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also visited the new metropolitan Palace of Schoolchildren's Creativity. The handicapped-accessible building will open its doors to 3,880 children to participate in over 50 clubs in science, arts and sports.

"Such a Palace of schoolchildren cannot be found in any region of Kazakhstan. One complex comprises 50 different clubs - painting, dancing, modeling, sports clubs, athletics arena and other sections. Children can get basic knowledge in order to further pursue their education, to demonstrate their abilities. We are bringing up a future generation of the versatile, the educated, and the healthy," the President said.
