Crown Prince Haakon of Norway expected in Astana

ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ During today's ceremony of presentation of credentials by foreign ambassadors President Nursultan Nazarbayev welcomed the decision of the Kingdom of Norway to open its embassy in Astana.

?This is an important step in the advancement of multilateral cooperation between our countries. I believe that the visits of Crown Prince Haakon and Foreign Minister of Norway to Astana which will are to be made this year will give an impulse to the political and trade and economic cooperation between our countries?, President Nazarbayev said to new Ambassador of Norway Dag Malmer Halvorsen. At the briefing the foreign diplomat informed that his visit was scheduled for late spring and timed to the official opening of the embassy in Astana. He underlined Norway?s interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the spheres of energy, nuclear disarmament, and environmental protection.
