Crucial to ensure food safety, Kazakh President
The Kazakh President underscored the importance of ensuring food safety, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“Another highlight is providing food safety. It is necessary to raise the share of the processed goods in the agro-industrial complex up to 70%. The Government and business community will cooperate in this direction. Large investment projects are being developed to reduce dependence on the imports of the agro-industrial complex,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at today’s Altyn Sapa Prize solemn awarding ceremony.
As stated there, Kazakhstan will build 115 dairy farms to produce up to 600,000 tons of milk and 15 poultry farms to produce 120,000 tons of meat a year.
The President said the implementation of the large-scale project will directly affect the living conditions of the rural population, and open greater opportunities for the development of regions.
