CSTO adopts statement on establishing cooperation with NATO

ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM The Council of CSTO Foreign Ministers adopted a statement on establishing cooperation between CSTO and NATO at a Friday session in Astana, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov announced at a press conference after the Council's enlarged sitting at the Astana Rixos President Hotel.

"Today we have exchanged opinions on the topical issues of global and regional security, "compared notes" on major issues of cooperation within the framework of the Organization," Kazykhanov said.

According to him, the foreign ministers adopted a statement on establishing cooperation between CSTO and NATO, and approved the list of topics on possible statements within the international organizations in 2012.

'We have also approved a plan of consultations of the CSTO member states on foreign policy, security and defence for the second half of 2012 and beginning of 2013. In addition, we have established CSTO badge of honor," the Foreign Minister added.
