CSTO discusses military and political situation in region
The military and political situation in the region became one of the topics of a joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils that took place in Minsk on 22 November, Kazinform News Agency reports via BELTA.
The talks were held ahead of the CSTO summit slated for Thursday, 23 November, in Minsk. The meeting discussed the military and political situation in the regions of collective security, the CSTO's activity in the intersessional period, and also priorities of Kazakhstan's upcoming presidency in the organization.
As reported, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to participate in the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Minsk today.
On November 24, the Head of State will pay a working visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, to attend the Summit of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
