CSTO foreign ministers to adopt statement on 70th anniversary of Great Victory

MINSK. KAZINFORM - Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei will lead the Belarusian delegation at the regular session of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) that will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 2 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The ministers are expected to sign several documents that fall within the competence of the council, including the statement on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and a plan for consultations on matters of foreign policy, security, and defense for 2015-2016," the ministry said.

The agenda of the session features current issues of international policy and measures to address challenges and threats to the collective security in the region. It is expected that the plenary session will be attended by UN and OSCE representatives. "In this connection, we are set to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between international and regional organizations and to step up their joint efforts to ensure security in Central Asia," the press service added.
