The rescue workers will practice the cleanup of an emergency at hazardous chemical industry installations. In line with the scenario the city of Almaty suffers from technological emergencies at five chemical industry installations that use highly toxic substances as part of their manufacturing process, with ammonia released in the course of the emergency. The rescue workers will practice the application of the recently adopted regulation that specifies emergency response procedures of the CSTO member states and action plans for command units of emergency response teams.

The exercise will involve two phases. It will gather operational groups of the bodies in charge of responding to emergencies and rescue units of the CSTO member states. They will practice emergency response and rescue efforts in debris, destroyed buildings of hazardous chemical installations, and railway infrastructure objects, BelTA reports.
