CU increases duty on import of electric motors

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has made a decision on temporary increase of import duties on certain types of multi-phase AC motors with the capacity 7.5 kW - 37 kW, the press service of the EEC reports.

Measure has been taken to improve the competitiveness of similar products manufactured in the countries of the Customs Union. "Temporary duty rate of 5% of the customs value will be valid through December 31, 2015'', according to the words of Trade Minister of the EEC Andrey Slepnyov.

The engines are used in the production of woodworking machines, pumps, fans, sewing machines, electric mincing machines and electric juicers.

Decision shall enter into force after 10 days from the date of its official publication.
