Custom Union to promote cross-border cooperation, Zhambyl region akim Bozymbayev

ZHAMBYL REGION. December 21. KAZINFORM /Galina Skripnik/ "With the formation of the Customs Union Kazakhstan plans to set up active near-border cooperation", Governor of Zhambyl region Kanat Bozumbayev said during his working trip, visiting Kordaycustoms point. The Head of the region checked out the capacity of seven check points located at the territory of Korday region on the border of Kyrgyzstan.

It emerged that traffic jams occur even at the biggest customs point "Korday" due to large flow of both citizens and transport.

According to the customs officers, the problem can be resolved by increase of the authorized personnel complement of the check point. Besides, it was suggested to transmit the truck transport through "Karasy" check point.

"In order to develop the cross-border trade opportunities for construction of large international center of cross-border cooperation in Korday district is under consideration", the Governor said.
