Customs officials to attend Customs Union meeting in Astana
Attending the meeting will be Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Alexander Shpilevsky.
On 9 December the capital of Kazakhstan will host a meeting of the CIS council of heads of customs services and a meeting of the council of heads of customs services at the EurAsEC Integration Committee.
The participants of the meetings are set to consider more than a dozen issues relating to the coordinated customs policy, harmonization of national customs legislations and promoting mutual cooperation.
The meeting participants will discuss the criteria for customs escort non-application in transportation of foreign goods under TIR procedures. They will also touch upon customs operations regarding transit passengers in the Customs Union airports.
The agenda of the meeting will include a draft protocol on cooperation between the CIS customs services in post-customs control, amendments to the current wording of the CIS single methodology of customs statistics on foreign trade. Proposals have been made either to amend or denunciate the EurAsEC customs documents and analyze the validity of the decisions made by the council of the heads of the customs services at the EurAsEC Integration Committee. The meeting participants will also discuss the draft protocol on the agreement on the EurAsEC commodity classification of 20 September 2002.
