Customs Union member states to sign 55 int'l agreements - Kazakh FM

ASTANA. December 13. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov held a meeting with heads of foreign institutions in Kazakhstan on Tuesday in Astana.

The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the results of work and determine goals for the near future. Kazykhanov told about the activities within the framework of the Customs Union and Single Economic Space. He said that Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus would have to sign about 55 international agreements and ensure implementation of 74 mandatory measures in order to provide a qualitative breakthrough for the SES.

These integration associations reflect our national interests, the results of our search for the optimal model of Eurasian integration and hopes of millions of our fellow citizens, the minister said.

Kazakhstan should become a bridge between the dynamic economies of the EU, East, Southeast and South Asia. Completion of the construction of the railway lines Uzen - state border with Turkmenistan and Korgas - Zhetygen was an important step towards execution of the tasks set by the President of Kazakhstan, he said.
