Customs Union mutual trade 9.3% up in January-October, foreign trade 4.7% up

In January-October 2012 the foreign trade of the Customs Union member states with third countries amounted to $772.8 billion, with export at $496.4 billion and import at $276.4 billion. In cost terms the volume of foreign trade rose by 4.7% from January-October 2011, with export up by 4.8% and import up by 4.5%. In January-October 2012 the Customs Union had a foreign trade surplus as large as $220 billion, up from $209.4 billion in January-October 2011.
In January-October 2012 Belarus' export rose by 19.8% while import dropped by 10.8%. Russia's export rose by 3.2%, with import up by 3.8%. The figures for Kazakhstan are 9.3% up and 31.4% up respectively, BelTA reports.
In January-October 2012 the mutual trade of the Customs Union member states totaled $56.8 billion, 9.3% up from January-October 2011. Belarus-Russia trade reached $36.6 billion, 12.9% up, and accounted for 64.4% of the entire mutual trade in the Customs Union. Belarus-Kazakhstan trade totaled $0.8 billion, 17.4% up, 1.4% of the total mutual trade in the Customs Union. Russia-Kazakhstan trade totaled $19.4 billion, 2.8% up, 34.2% of the total mutual trade.
