Customs Union's renewed Customs Code in force in 2013

MINSK. April 6. KAZINFORM The renewed Customs Code of the Customs Union will come into force on 1 January 2013, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Brytkov said at the online conference "Novelties in customs laws" hosted by the BelTA website on 5 April.

The official stressed they had been instructed to finalize a new edition of the Customs Code by 1 July 2012. The updated Customs Code is expected to come into force as from 1 January 2013, he said, BelTA reports.

Yuri Brytkov also said that amending the Customs Code is the main matter the Eurasian Economic Commission is working on now. The Commission has already taken over some authority and is now acting within its competence to revise decisions of the Customs Union Commission, making changes and additions, passing new documents in the form of resolutions of the councils and the board, said the official.
