Date of resumption of production at Kashagan oil field not set yet - KazMunayGas

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The date of resumption of production at Kazakhstan's Kashagan oil field has not been set yet, head of KazMunayGas JSC Mr. Sauat Mynbayev said.

"The date of resumption of production at Kashagan field has not been set yet. And that will affect negatively both the company and the country on the whole," S. Mynbayev said Tuesday.

Oil production at the Kashagan field kicked off on September 11, 2013. However, right after that the production was suspended due to gas leakage on the main pipeline. Production was resumed, but in early October it was suspended again following another gas leak.

A thorough investigation was launched. Results of investigation for detection of gas leakage causes are expected to be announced this month.
