Days of Kazakh cinema take place in Yerevan
On December 13-15, the Kazakh Cinema Days were held at the Cinema House in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, showcasing the best works of modern Kazakh cinematography. The festival was dedicated to 25 years since the signing of the Treaty on friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
The screening of the Kazakh works such as Dos Mukasan, Bauryna salu, Zhambyl. Novaya era, Umit saulesi, Operatsiya Nabat and Kanysh took place.
The Days of Kazakh Cinema offer an opportunity to get to know the best works of modern Kazakh cinematography as well as highlight the importance of culture in promoting international relations. It’s through art and cinema that we are able to better understand each other, see unique features and values that we cherish, said Bolar Imanbayev, Kazakh ambassador to Armenia, said.
In turn, member of the Board of the Union of Cinematographs of Armenia, professor of the Yerevan Institute of Theatre and Cinema, film expert and critic Aneta Yerznkyan, contemporary Kazakh films occupy a prominent place in the world.
The festival started with the screening of the biographical short film Umit saulesi, telling about the history of Kazakh para-judoka, silver medalist of the 2024 Paris Paralympics Yergali Shamey.
