Delegation of Malaysia's Council on Development Construction Industry visited Kazakhstan

CIDB is the key state body that regulates construction industry and is entitled to holding negotiations on participation of Malaysian construction companies abroad, the Kazakh MFA's press service said. The delegation consisted of the management of subsidiary company of the Council "CIDBHoldingsSdnBhd", Joint Kazakhstan-Malaysian enterprise "KazariahEnergyLLP" and representatives of the Malaysia's Embassy in Kazakhstan. On February 3, the delegation met with Kazakhstan's First Deputy of Minister of Foreign Affairs - Commissioner of the International Exhibition "EXPO-2017", Rapil Zhoshybayev and Chairman of the Executive Board of JSC "National Company "Astana EXPO-2017", Talgat Yermegiyayev. During the talks both parties reflected on significant progress reached in the recent times in the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Malaysia. Commissionerof EXPO-2017 Rapil Zhoshybayev noted the dynamic nature of the Kazakhstan-Malaysian friendship ties, expressed gratitude for supporting Astana as a candidate city for hosting EXPO-2017 and expressed confidence in the Malaysian companies' ability to demonstrate their achievements in the sphere of new technologies and innovative solutions within the framework of preparation for EXPO-2017. Chairman of the Executive Board Talgat Yermegiyayev briefed the guests on the tasks set before the National Company, as well as on preparatory works for the hosting of the exhibition. He also noted that the National Company pays special attention to attracting partners for introducing innovations and new technologies. Specifically, negotiations with such reputable companies as Samsung, HP and has already begun, he said. Kazakhstan's side drew attention to the issue of installation of wind power plants. In particular, it is planned to construct two wind power plants on the territory of EXPO-2017 main pavilion and more than 100 of such power plants - in the locality of the capital. In turn, head of the Malaysian delegation Judin Seri Abdul Karim expressed Malaysia's readiness to actively participate in construction of the wind power plants, based on their significant experience in this field. Apart from this, the Malaysian delegation showed interest in projects on development of transport infrastructure which would utilize environmentally friendly technologies in Astana, which is essential for providing quality services to tourists. During the visit, the Malaysian delegation also met with Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies (MINT) Asset Issekeshev, Minister of Regional Development Bulat Zhamishev, Mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov, Executive secretary of MINT of Beibut Atamkulov, Executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance Natalya Korzhova, Deputy chairman of the JV "National Agency on export and investments "KAZNEX INVEST" Kairat Karmanov as well as with representatives of business circles. Signing of the Memorandum of understanding in the area of information exchange between JSC "National Agency on export and investments "KAZNEX INVEST" and investment departments of the Council "CIDBHoldingsSdnBhd" was an important issue of the working agenda.
