Deputy PM, Chinese company discuss combined power plant construction in Kazakhstan
Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar has met today a delegation of China Datang Corporation Ltd, one of the PRC’s major power generation enterprises, Kazinform News Agency reports citing primeminister.kz.
The company operates in more than 10 countries of the world, including Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Singapore.
The total capacity of the company’s electricity generating facilities exceeds 190GW, 50% of which account for the renewable energy sources.
China Datang has been listed in Fortune Global 500 for 14 consecutive years.
Roman Sklyar informed the Chinese side of the Kazakh Government’s efforts to develop the country’s energy sector, including investment attraction activity, emphasizing the need to commission new power and heat-generating facilities.
The sides also discussed the issues of construction of a combined power plant by the Chinese company and cooperation in coal chemical industry.
As of late July 2024, the total capacity of power generating units at the Chinese power plants increased by 14% year on year to almost 3.1 billion kW.
