Development of food belt around Astana and large cities is important – N. Nazarbayev
The agricultural complex as a whole including social entrepreneurial corporations, agricultural structures as well as mayors must work for implementation of this issue.
In addition a high-powered research and innovative support is needed for development of the food belt, the President noted. "This industry was not developed enough. According to the experts each dollar spent for agricultural research at the expense of increase of production volume gives 40 dollars. No one of you thought of it. Though the world is interested in this issue", N. Nazarbayev said.
The President noted that lack of raw material for processing of agricultural production can become the reason for work stoppage of plants. "Lack of sufficient volume of raw material at working plants endangers the implementation of the food belt", N. Nazarbayev noted.
The President underlined that the Mayors of Karaganda and Akmola regions must address this issue. He emphasized that Kazakhstan must develop four directions: production and processing of agricultural products, transportation, delivery and storage for development of the agriculture.
