DNA labs will be created in all regions of Kazakhstan - MIA

ASTANA. November 20. KAZINFORM Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan opens DNA laboratories in the regions, said at a press conference in the office of the Central Communications Service the Senior Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs Marat Demeuov.

"Special attention is paid to the development of forensic services. Steps are being taken to introduce modern methods of laboratory capacity, creation of a database of DNA samples of the convicted and DNA biological traces seized from the scene. In Astana and Almaty we have already got a DNA lab. We are planning to create such facilities in other parts of the country", said the deputy minister.

According to him, 16 mobile crime labs have been purchased, 120 dactiloscopic complexes for remore input of dactocards, and more than 100 workstations of criminologists have been organized. This year the Ministry of Internal Affairs has also established a genomic and a physical-chemical laboratory.
