Documentary about Kazakh heroes of Stalingrad battle to be made

SHYMKENT. KAZINFORM - Delegation from South Kazakhstan region will film a documentary in Russia about Kazakhstani soldiers who took part in the battle of Stalingrad.

The filming of the documentary about the Kazakhstanis who heroically took part in the battle of Stalingrad will take place in the Volgograd and the Rostov regions as well as in the Republic of Kalmykia. "This project is of paramount importance on the threshold of celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Allied Victory in the Second World War. It will help consolidate solidarity, patriotism, traditions and respect to elders in the society," believes Almasbek Mamytbekov, the deputy chairman of the South Kazakhstan regional branch of the Nur Otan Party. The documentary will focus on the lives and heroic deeds of Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot Nurken Abdirov who was killed in a battle in December 1942 and Hero of the Soviet Union Karsybai Spatayev who was also killed in a battle in November 1942.
