Domestic drug manufacturing is on rise in Kazakhstan
The Kazakh Healthcare Ministry continues import substitution of drugs, Kazinform Mews Agency reports.
Domestic drug production grew by 14.5% to hit 95 billion tenge in the first half of 2024, Kazakh Healthcare Minister Akmaral Alnazarova told the Government meeting today.
94 long-term agreements were signed with 35 Kazakhstani producers to deliver 4,000 pharma products. A new package of agreements will be signed with 24 potential producers for the delivery of 1,412 medical products by the yearend.
Domestic drug manufacturers were favored in purchasing pharmaceutical products. As a result, for the past six months, 196 medical items worth 29.5 billion US dollars were delivered.
