Dozens of miners evacuated from Karaganda mine due to emergency

70 miners have been evacuated from the Lenin mine in Karaganda region after an emergency, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to Qarmet press service, no casualties were reported in the incident.

70 people were in the Lenin mine when the emergency occurred. Increased CO2 concentrations were reported in the mine on March 22.

All 70 miners were taken to safety to surface. The evacuation was carried out in a routine mode.

The incident at Qarmet happened five months after the Kostenko mine disaster which claimed lives of 46 miners back in late October 2023.
