Dozens taken to hospital as a result of mass toxic poisoning at school in Turkistan region

Six more teachers and 2 students were taken to a hospital after the poisoning emergency at a school in Saryagash district of Turkistan region, Kazinform News Agency reports.

All patients have been examined at the hospital and are in satisfactory condition. They have been diagnosed with toxic poisoning after inhaling toxic fumes at the school after repairs, the healthcare office of Turkistan region said in a statement.

Dozens of teachers and students sustained mass poisoning after reportedly inhaling toxic fumes at the secondary school №9 named after Mailykozha in Yntymak village. 29 students and 10 teachers were taken to a hospital as a result of the toxic poisoning on Monday, February 5.

Of 39 people, only two teachers are staying at the hospital under the care of medical workers.

Students at the school have been switched to remote learning for three days at least.
