Drawing supporting national team presented in Kazakhstan ahead of 2025 Asian Winter Games
Kazakhstan’s National Olympic Committee in collaboration with artist Aigerim Karibayeva presented a unique drawing supporting the national team at the upcoming 2025 Asian Winter Games in China’s Harbin, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the Committee.
Painted in an ethnic modern style, the author’s drawing combines national traditions and contemporary art, depicting winter sports such as short-track, figure skating, hockey, skating and skiing.
While working on the drawing, I wanted to convey each sport individually, reveal all its features, but also as one whole. I turned to different techniques to feel the plasticity of each sport; I had to choose the appropriate style, original outfit for each character. I wanted the drawing to be visually appealing as well as to reflect Kazakh identity. As a result, it has national ornaments, mixes blue and light blue colors. I think it was perfectly done, said Katibayeva.
Through this drawing, we sought to support our athletes as well as to demonstrate that sport and art have much in common, as both unite lots of people… We managed to create the drawing depicting Kazakhstani sport as well as revealing our distinctive national culture, says Gulnaz Shukenova, PR and marketing director of the National Olympic Committee.
To note, the Asian Winter Games are set to run in Harbin, China on February 7-14, 2025.
