Drought causes low wheat yields in S Kazakhstan - Agriculture Ministry
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In Almaty, Zhambyl, West-Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda and South Kazakhstan regions 654 thousand hectares have been cleared, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Total there were harvested 759 thousand tons of grain at yield of 11.6 hundredweights per hectare, which is 4.9 hundredweights per hectare lower than in 2013. The most low yields (8.1 hundredweight / ha) due to dry weather conditions were registered in Zhambyl region", the statement reads.
