Dushanbe supports Kazakhstan's initiative on announcing August 29 Day of Nuclear Weapons Renunciation

ANA.  August 24. KAZINFORM Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tajikistan Abutalip Akhmetov has met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Khamrohon Zarifi in Dushanbe today.

The Minister informed of Tajikistan's support of Kazakh President's initiative on announcing August 29 the World Day of Nuclear Weapons Renunciation, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The parties focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. The Kazakh diplomat proposed to activate economic direction of both countries' interaction. According to A. Akhmetov, the countries possess huge uncommitted potential.

In turn, the Tajik Minister welcomed opening of the Kazakh-Tajik Direct Investments Fund. In his opinion, hydro-energy, electricity supply lines, agriculture could become promising directions for joint projects launch.

Touching upon the countries' interaction on the international arena K. Zarifi highlighted that Tajikistan supported and would support Kazakhstan as the OSCE presiding country. The parties expressed confidence that both countries would continue interaction within the international organizations.

Upon completion of the talk, A. Akhmetov expressed appreciation to the Tajik leadership for the support of Kazakhstan's initiatives and propositions regarding urgent regional and international issues.
