The region takes the lead in sunflower oil production. It produces 255,000 tons of oil which constitutes 65% of the total production across Kazakhstan. The region is set to boost sunflower oil exports. In recent months it signed contracts worth tens of millions US dollars, including an agreement up to 11 million US dollars signed between the region and China at the international exhibition in Shanghai, and agreements worth 12 million US dollars with Uzbekistan inked in Samarkand.

Kosherbayev said logistics and high-quality standards are the key to promoting its products to the international markets. A modern export commodities certification laboratory will open in Ust Kamenogorsk at the grounds of the republican veterinary laboratory to compile documents to export goods to China.

He also stressed the region targets to boost fish production up to 10,000 tons by 2030 given environmental protection and international practice highlighting 23,000 Siberian sturgeon juvenile fishes were released to Chornyi Irtysh Rover as part of the environmental campaign.

Earlier Yermek Kosherbayev said East Kazakhstan leads in the industrial sector countrywide with its output reaching 2.1 trillion tenge, 103% up.
