East Kazakhstan region, Lithuania eye deeper cooperation

UST-KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM - Akim (governor) of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov has met today with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania in Kazakhstan Vytautas Naudužas.

Ambassador Naudužas arrived in Ust-Kamenogorsk for a working trip earlier. Governor Akhmetov told the Lithuanian diplomat about the economic potential of East Kazakhstan region. The sides also eyed possible cooperation in various spheres, including transport and logistics, students' exchange and more. The two-way trade between East Kazakhstan region and Lithuania totaled $6,8 million in 2014 and grew by 6,1% compared to 2013. Total Kazakh-Lithuanian two-way trade exceeded $1 billion in 2014.
