East Kazakhstan region ready to export meat to Russia

UST-KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM - East Kazakhstan region is ready to export beef to Russia, head of the department for agriculture of East Kazakhstan region Dyusumbai Selikhanov told at the press conference.

"The region works hard on developing its potential in terms of meat export. However, it is not quite competitive now. There are two reasons to explain it: the first one is some farmers slaughter cattle not thinking ahead into the future and the second one is the national currency of Russia exchange rate," he noted.

However, he believes that the export of meat from East Kazakhstan region to Russian will increase byte he yearend.
