EBRD President set to visit Kazakhstan
The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso, is set to pay a visit Kazakhstan from 31 October to 1 November 2024 for meetings with senior government officials and multilateral financial institutions, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the bank’s press service.

During her two-day programme, the EBRD President will meet with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, hold a bilateral meeting with the leadership of the Asian Development Bank ank and sign agreements on several sustainable infrastructure projects.
The EBRD President will co-chair a plenary session of the Foreign Investors’ Council to mark its 26th year of operation. She will also address the Global Businesswoman Council and open the Bank’s new office in Astana.
In the context of these engagements, President Renaud-Basso will touch on the importance of renewable energy for Kazakhstan’s economy, the growing role of public-private partnerships in addressing critical infrastructure needs, and issues of interregional connectivity and small and medium-size enterprise (SME) development.
With over €10 billion invested in the country to date through 330 projects, Kazakhstan is the EBRD’s largest and longest-running banking operation in Central Asia.
