EC chairman highlights trade ties with Kazakhstan
TEHRAN. January 27. KAZINFORM Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani called for the expansion of economic ties between Tehran and Astana in a meeting with Kazakh ambassador to Tehran on Monday.
Referring to the global economic crisis and its impacts on the regional states, Hashemi Rafsanjani pointed out that Iran and Kazakhstan can foster mutual interests through boosting economic ties especially in the fields of oil, gas, and energy, the Mehr News Agency reported.
Yerik Utembayev, the Kazakh official, expressed satisfaction over the current level of cooperation between the two countries and said Kazakhstan is prepared to start cooperation with Iran in the field of hi-tech industries, Kazinform has learnt from Tehran Times.
