Economic forum devoted to EXPO-2017 held in Germany

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan - National Commissioner of the EXPO-2017 international exhibition Rapil Zhoshybayev, a member of the committee for economic reform and regional development of the Majilis Askhat Bekenov, First Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau, Chairman of Astana EXPO-2017 National Company Talgat Yermegiyayev, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of Germany Cornelia Pieper, Chairman of the Committee on Economics and Technology of the Bundestag Ernst Hinsken, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics and Technology Ernst Burgbacher and others participated in the forum.
In total, the event was attended by about 200 guests, including representatives of the leaders of the German government, political and business circles and mass media of Germany.
The Kazakh participants informed the guests of the international initiatives, main indicators of the current economic development and actual trade-economic relationship between the two countries.
Special attention was paid to new investment possibilities for German companies within preparation for the EXPO-2017 event that will be held in Astana.
The German side noted the high level of bilateral relations and the importance of major trade economic cooperation development with Kazakhstan.
According to the German participants, macroeconomic indicators of the Kazakh economy and the fruitful investment climate served as a prerequisite for bilateral economic interaction strengthening.
During the working trip, the Kazakh delegation held talks with heads of the leading German companies specialized in the sphere of alternative energy recourses and are interested in cooperation to realize the Energy of the future project of the international exhibition in Astana. Following the negotiations, a number of agreements was reached.
