Economic integration in Eurasia is a unifying force for our countries - Nazarbayev

The leaders of Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan discussed the issues and prospects of EurAsEC development, particularly improvement of the Customs Union work and Single Economic Space.
In his speech, the President said that the economic integration in Eurasia is a unifying force for our countries.
"While establishing the Eurasian Economic Community as an international organization we aimed to effectively promote the process of formation of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. Today, therefore, it is important to conduct a thorough analysis of the positive results and the problematic aspects of the development of regional associations as part of our integration associations," the Kazakh President said.
Summarizing the results of the joint work of the EurAsEC, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that under the auspices of the Organization specific economic projects are being implemented. Among them, the establishment of a common energy system, a single cycle in the production of civilian nuclear power, construction of the Eurasian transport corridors and others.
In addition, real mechanisms of financial integration are established within the framework of the organization. Thus, the Eurasian Development Bank currently funds a number of projects in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Establishment of the Anticrisis Fund helped member countries in overcoming the effects of the global crisis. This measure allowed to ensure long-term sustainability of the economies and contributed to the integration processes in the region.
