Economy Minister met with Head of German Society for Technical Cooperation in RK

ASTANA. February 27. KAZINFORM Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov has met with Head of the Representation of German Society for Technical Cooperation in Kazakhstan Reiner Gerz, Kazinform reports.

According to the Ministry?s press service the interlocutors discused the upcoming II Astana Economic Forum on Economic Security of Eurasia in the System of Global Risks scheduled for March 11-12, 2009. According to the Minister, the forum is held on the ground of the Eurasian Club of Scientists. ?This is the only club in the world that unites scientists-researchers and economists?, B. Sultanov said and added that German scientists were the club members as well. Following the forum, a package of proposals to G-20 will be developed, the Minister stated. The proposals will concern combating the economic crisis, formation of a global post-crisis system of currency regulation and the economic system in whole. ?Role of the state in the economic processes in the crisis and post-crisis periods and forms of cooperation of state and private sector will become one of the key topics of the forum? , B. Sultanov explained. The Head of the office of the German Society for Technical Cooperation thanked the Minister for detailed information about the forum. ?This will be a large event. The forum participants will answer the main question: what the world and its economic system will be in new conditions. We will need coordinated efforts of all countries to answer it?, he said. He also informed of readiness of the German Society for Technical Cooperation to participate in the II Astana Economic Forum and noted that the members of the society were interested in joint discussion in one of the sections ? ?Development of state-private sector partnership?. The parties also focused on the prospects of bilateral cooperation of Kazakhstan and Germany. The German side expressed intention to continue realization of the started projects on technical cooperation in small and medium businesses, education, and healthcare and expand regional cooperation.
