EDB finances project on grain export - Kazakhstan

Deputy Chairman of EDB Kambar Shalgimbayev and Director of "APK-Invest" Corporation" LLP Marat Kalizhanov signed the document; the press-service of the EDB said.
The project provides purchase of 420 thousand tons of grain in Akmola, Kostanay and North-Kazakhstan regions. The grain is intended for the export to CIS countries and outside from which 80 per cent are EDB member-countries.
Financing will amount to USD 50 mln. The project answers the EDB mission and strategy, positively influences on stable economic growth due to indirect development of export-oriented production.
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial institution founded in order to foster economic growth and integration processes in the Eurasian region.
The Bank was founded by intergovernmental agreement that was signed in January 2006 by the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The initiative for establishing the Bank came from the two Presidents. The Bank's charter capital exceeds USD 1.5 billion. The EDB countries-participants are Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Tajikistan.
