Education and Science Minister pays working visit to Almaty region

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov held a series of events to explain the President's Address to the Nation in educational institutions of Almaty region, according to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The minister visited the Zhansugurov Zhetysu State University, where he met with students and teaching staff, according to Primeminister.kz.

In accordance with the President's Address the issue on implementing the principle of autonomy of universities is being studied, Sarinzhipov said.

"Autonomy of universities will give academic freedom to universities so that they can quickly implement innovative programs, attract resources. After discussing the goals and objectives of the President's Address the minister answered all the questions of teachers and students.

In addition, he visited the service and technology college in Taldykorgan, a number of schools, including a school in the Balpyk Bi village of Koksusky district.

Currently, the region is to address problems of schools in disrepair and building of new schools. In this regard, there were held talks aimed at solving problems within five years.

During the visit, Minister of Education and Science Sarinzhipov and Acting Akim of Almaty region A. Batalov signed Memorandum "On achieving the targets and final results in education and youth policy for 2014-2016".

The initiative of concluding memoranda with akimats of the region was launched by the ministry with the purpose of implementing the priorities of the development of education, science and youth policy.
