Education Ministry, ?SamrukKazyna? Fund to open credit line for students of technical and medical specialties
ASTANA. February 17. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ From March 1, 2009 the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan together with ?SamrukKazyna? National Welfare Fund will open a preferential credit line for the students of technical and medical specialties. Minister of Education and Science Zhansseit Tuimebayev has told at the session of the Government today, Kazinform reports.
?The main criteria on selection of the students for providing the long-term preferential loan are good academic performance and social status: students-orphans and those left without parental care; disabled students; students, whose parents are disabled; students from large and single parent families and students whose parents are pensioners?, the Minister said.
The state has allotted about KZT 15 bln for the program on crediting which covers the students of all academic years studying by technical and medical specialties on a fee basis.
The term of crediting is 20 years. The rate of interest is 9%; the loan will be paid out after graduation.
