CAIRO. February 7. KAZINFORM Egypt will start the nomination for presidential candidacy on March 10, about one month earlier than the original schedule, the Presidential Elections Commission (PEC) said on Monday, according to Xinhua.

The decision came following a meeting between Chief of Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Hussein Tantawi and Farouk Sultan, head of the Supreme Constitutional Court and PEC chief, according to the official news agency MENA.

Tantawi urged the commission to speedily finish the legal procedures which are necessary for the beginning of presidential nomination, MENA added.

The commission also decided to enable the parties which win seats in the parliament to choose a candidate for the presidency.

The ruling military council had previously said that candidacy nomination for presidential polls would start in mid-April.
