‘El zhuregi – Astana’ concert marking Kazakh capital relocation took place
On the occasion of the move of the Kazakh capital to Astana on December 10, the El zhuregi – Astana concert was held by the Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic, Kazinform News Agency cites the official website of the capital’s administration office.
Attending the event were persons who laid the foundation, contributed to the development of Astana. They include architects, builders, teachers, doctors, culture figures, law enforcement officers, workers of government and community services, as well as representatives of SMEs, labor veterans, professionals.
December 10 is the historic day! On this day, former Akmola became Astana. After many years, we have been celebrating this historic day with particular satisfaction. Thanks to the selfless work carried out throughout that time our capital has turned into a flourishing metropolis. There were only 200 thousand residents the first we came here. Now, the population stands at 1.5 million. The city is the real culture center. I believe the first settlers made every effort to achieve success for the capital. I’m among them. I take proud in taking part in the major event in the history of our country, said honored citizen of Astana Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov.
The El zhuregi – Astana concert was opened by the song Astana sung by honored figure Kairat Baekenov. The hosts of the concert noted the importance of the historic day and congratulated Astana citizens who contributed to the development of the capital.
