Electoral campaign to start in Azerbaijan on Jan 6

According to the “Calendar Plan on basic activities and measures for preparation and conduct of municipal elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, the electoral campaign will start on January 6, 2025, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Under the Electoral Code, electoral campaign is conducted by registered candidates, their authorized representatives and agents, as well as political parties and blocs of political parties. The campaigning starts 23 days before the voting day and ends 24 hours before the start of the elections.

Thus, the campaigning will begin on January 6 and will end on January 28, 2025 at 08:00 am.

During this period, the candidates will present their election programs and vision for the development of cities and villages.

The municipal election will be held in Azerbaijan on January 29.

On September 1, Azerbaijan held early parliamentary elections.

Earlier, it was reported that German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier had dissolved parliament and set elections for 23rd February.
