Emblem of VII Winter Asian Games 2011 presented in Almaty
ALMATY. February 18. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Official presentation of the Emblem of the VII Winter Asian Games 2011 that will be held in Astana and Almaty has taken place today at the conference ?Two years till Asian Games? in Almaty.
It represents a red-blue snowflake (ice and flame of contention spirit) and, at the same time, a wheal of a nomadic bullock-cart, symbolizing movement and steady development. There is shining sun in the right upper corner, denoting solidarity of all sportsmen. All proportions of the Emblem are developed an approved. Stands, banners, flags were presented at he conference as well. The work on the development of the Emblem lasted for two years, Kazinform reports.
According to Head of the directorate of the Asian Games in Almaty Sultan Shokbytov, the reconstruction of ?Medeu? sport-complex and ?Shymbulak? resort is underway. The works are scheduled to be accomplished by 2011.
Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Pavel Novikov said that Kazakhstan has good chances for success. According to the forecast, we can win 25 medals.
