ASTANA. July 19. KAZINFORM For six months of 2013 the level of emergency hospital admissions in Astana decreased by 17.6% compared to the same period last year, according to the press service of the National Center for Health Development, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz.

The level of planned hospitalization in Astana for six months of 2013 increased by 17.6% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the level of emergency hospital admissions on the contrary decreased by 17.6%.

The first place in the structure of hospital morbidity of the population of Astana belongs to "Pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period" - 19,877 cases, accounting for 31% of all hospital admissions.

This is followed by "Diseases of the circulatory system" - 9867 cases - 15.4%, "Diseases of the genitourinary system" - 4,768 patients - 7.4%.

Such pathologies as digestive diseases, injuries and poisoning, respiratory diseases, neoplasms and diseases of the nervous system are also the common cause for hospital admission.

The leading causes of hospitalization among children are respiratory diseases, congenital anomalies (birth defects), diseases of the nervous system, certain conditions originating in the perinatal period, and injuries and poisoning.
