Emmanuel Macron calls on Kazakhstan to boost cultural ties
Presidents of Kazakhstan and France – Emmanuel Macron and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev – had extended talks in the Akorda presidential residence, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Emmanuel Macron spoke on the importance of developing cultural ties and the French language teaching at Kazakhstani schools.
“We are ready to do our best to change the situation,” he said, adding that he pins great hopes on the intergovernmental agreement signed by the Kazakh and French educational institutions.
He emphasized the importance of promoting student ties between the two countries and opening the Kazakh-French University in September 2024.
“It is important to promote the student ties and scholarships for our students,” he said.
He also backed the Kazakh President’s initiative to hold an exhibition of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage in Paris.
France is the most important strategic, trade-economic and political partner of Kazakhstan. 90% of French-Central Asian trade falls on Kazakhstan.
