England fan: I wasn't asleep during the match

An England fan, who was pictured apparently asleep during the Three Lions' last Euro 2024 game, clarified that the photo was taken well before kick-off, reports Kazinform.

Freddie Hahn, from Crawley, West Sussex, appeared on the front page of several national newspapers following England’s lacklustre goalless draw against Slovenia on Tuesday. The 32-year-old explained that he took the opportunity for a nap after a few beers in the sun, as he rarely gets the chance to rest at home where he cares for a toddler.

Hahn and his friends arrived early at the stadium to set up their flag, a process that requires beating the rush by getting there three hours before kick-off. “The nap was two and a half hours before kick-off,” he noted.

England will face Slovakia in the last 16 of the tournament on Sunday.
