Erlan Karin: Literature is a key to public education and upbringing of younger generation

State Counselor Erlan Karin participated in a solemn event dedicated to the 90th anniversary  of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Addressing the participants, the State Counselor touched upon the issues related to the spiritual life of society and cultural heritage of the country, underlining the role of literature in education and upbringing processes.

“Literature is a key to public education and upbringing of the younger generation. Indeed, literary works praising moral and humanistic values, have widespread influence on the development of a nation,” Karin highlighted.

Erlan Karin also read out a letter of congratulation on behalf of the Head of State.

"The state attaches particular importance to the development of literature and the situation in the literary community as well as exceptional contribution made by the Union of Writers. All you are aware of our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s respect and sincere attitude to the writers’ community. And this is no coincidence, because he is not only the Head of State, but also the son of a writer, which gives special significance to his personal interest in the development of this sphere. The large-scale work done in recent years is clear evidence of this," the letter reads.

Earlier, the State Counselor held a working meeting devoted to discussing the issues of strengthening interethnic accord.
