EU foreign ministers to discuss situation in Ukraine, Moldova

ANTWERP. April 27. KAZINFORM The situation in Ukraine and Moldova will be one of the items on the agenda of the meeting of the EU Council for External Relations and General Affairs on the level of foreign ministers, which opens in Luxembourg on Monday. The discussion will be especially important in view of the fact that preparations are going on for the starting summit of the EU Eastern Partnership programme, which will be held in Prague on May 7, a diplomatic source in the European institutions told Itar-Tass. The purpose of the programme is to expand EU economic cooperation with Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the creation of a free trade zone with them and the easing of visa procedures. The programme does not provide for preparing those countries for joining EU; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
