EU is Kazakhstan's friend and partner: European Commission's Barroso

BRUSSELS. December 15. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission has sent a letter of congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence addressed to President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the people of Kazakhstan.

"Kazakhstan has made significant efforts to establish, develop and strengthen its political, economic and cultural spheres in the international arena. I am pleased that the EU could contribute to this progress through our contacts and bilateral cooperation," the letter reads.

Barroso says that the European Union will continue to be Kazakhstan's friend and partner.
