EU project on dissemination of information in Kazakh about human rights to start conducting regional training seminars
Later the similar training seminars will take place in Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Aktobe and Taldykorgan. Information on further results of the project will be published in national and local media and on the web-site: www.adamkukyk.kz .
The project entitled 'The capacity building of society to propagate human rights agenda in the Kazakh language' was launched on 1 January 2010. The purpose of the project is to provide information in Kazakh about human rights by way of teaching participants the basics of protection of fundamental rights set out in the Constitution of Kazakhstan and ratified international covenants on human rights. To attain such goals, project organizers trained the trainers with participation of international experts from the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (Warsaw), which are beginning now to conduct regional training workshops where they will apply their knowledge and convey own experience.
The project partners are the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (Warsaw) and the National Network of Independent Observers. The project is financed by the European Union to the sum of more than 150,000 Euros.
