EU supports establishing national network of organizations of disabled people in Kazakhstan
Chairman of "Namys" public association of disabled people with higher education Kairat Imanaliyev has made it public at a conference in Astana today.
"The main purpose of the network is to represent interests of disabled people of various categories united in small and medium organizations which are located in different parts of Kazakhstan and not members of other large associations. The network itself will protect the interests of people with disabilities. It is not connected with the European Union. This is our idea. We search for funding to make the network function," K.Imanaliyev said.
The national network of organizations of disabled people of Kazakhstan will function as a union of legal entities dealing with problems of people with disabilities. According to K.Imanaliyev, the establishment of the network was supported by the European Union.
"As we know, Kazakhstan has signed the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and now is preparing for its ratification as well as for adoption of the national action plan on protection of rights of people with disabilities in Kazakhstan, creation of conditions for such people. One of the main goals of the network will be monitoring the implementation of this plan," the Head of "Namys" association said.
According to him, the network will closely cooperate with the Kazakh Government and other state authorities.
